The idea that Saakashvili is handling protests peacefully is false

This article by Lynn Berry misses major facts. The article does not mention at all that many different sources indicate that attacks on individual protesters by armed groups have exacerbated. Saakashvili seems to have learned the lesson from November 7, 2007 that instead of violently disbanding whole demonstration it is more useful to covertly attack and intimidate supporters. I have also written about specific facts of such assaults. Among many other agencies, Ombudsman of Georgia expressed grave concern over the trend, underscoring the of police to defend such victims. He presented information about recent such cases with video evidence.

Avoiding mentioning this issue significantly skews the picture of reality on the ground.

    That's crap actually.
The tolerance which Georgian government is displaying is almost unique. In any other country not permitted protest blocking city centre would be cracked down by riot police within minutes(ref. antiglobalist protests in London recently), while Georgian government does everything possible to avoid violence.

The fact that opposition leader can not maintain discipline at the protest site has nothing to do with a government.

    Hypocrisy has limits

Anyway what so called opposition wants? To force Saakashvili out? Ok lets say he is gone so what? How it is going to solve problems?

Oh I forgot ex communist elite heirs like Anna dolidze and her partner Mr kakabadze want their privilege back, alongside with immunity from the law...
